Stopped in for Happy Hour, beautiful patio, lots of trees for shade, excellent service, food and music! Had the Margarita Pizza and a few glasses of bubbles. Staff amazing! Have several locations, will definitely be back

I recently visited this Italian restaurant and tried their meatballs. The flavor of the food wasn’t very rich, but it wasn’t bad either—just average. I really liked the outdoor seating area; it was pleasant and comfortable. However, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy, the service could have been better and felt a bit slow. Overall, it was an okay experience, but nothing outstanding.

In my opinion Nook is disappointing. The food is just about alright but unfortunately overpriced. I'm attaching a photo to show the portion size and the amount of burrata I was given (which cost me an additional 8 dollars). Moreover, Nook isn't a place I'd recommend if you're looking for an authentic pasta experience. The service however was very lovely but I just can't get over the amount of burrata I was given for 8 dollars, truly shocking, that should be no more than 3.5 and even that feels excessive. Also the gnocchi was a bit too greasy. Probably won't come back unless one of my friends really wants to go.

Food for one plus drink and tip: $70ish Positive: Great service, location and open interior. Fantastic for families. Meatballs made from scratch, juicy and delicious... Lots of drink option and beers. Do have lunch special and happy hours. Food for thought:.try their anchovies pasta and pizza. Not overpowering salty.

If you are looking for a "something for everyone" menu then this may not be your jam. The menu here is small and focused. Mostly pizza and pasta but made in house with high quality authentic ingredients. Great concept, don't try to be everything to everyone, do less but do it right. I had the $27 Rigatoni Boscatiola. Good flavors and textures. I did notice as it arrived that the bowl was cold which unfortunately resulted in cool pasta by the time I was half way through. Simple mistake, easy fix. My son had the anchovy pizza which was decent but we both agreed that the pasta was a better choice. Personally I am not a fan of seafood on pizza and the anchovies were quite fishy. Service was top notch and professional, it was easy to tell the 2 people that touched our table were industry veterans. They were welcoming, efficient, helpful and knowledgeable. Great views of the Quay and the inlet, casual upscale feel. I would definitely try this place again to sample some of the other menu items.

Update Apr.24 - Love dining here. The Boscaiola pasta and mushroom/pancetta pizza are the favs. Happy Hour focaccia is divine. So glad they're doing reservations again! ---- Second time we've eaten here, and I think it's our new fav North Van restaurant. Awesome and fun staff, fantastic food, great vibe. Both pizza and pasta are excellent. Love the rotating local taps (would love to see some more variety/non-Italian on the wine list too).

Patio is very fabulous. Mushroom rigatoni and margarita pizza delicious. Staff is helpful and kind. Just I didn’t like small aperol glass. I know that it should be wine glass .

Really good service and good food! We sat outside by a fireplace and it was lovely. I got a spaghetti carbonara from the Mother’s Day menu, and my boyfriend had a spaghetti bolognese, they were great!

The restaurant's commitment to quality is apparent in the reviews shared by satisfied patrons. Donna Irwin praised the ambiance, highlighting the excellent service, delectable Margarita Pizza, and an enjoyable selection of bubbles during their Happy Hour. In contrast, some guests have felt the menu items could be improved in flavor and value. Natasza Ptak mentioned that while the service was friendly, she found the burrata overpriced for its portion size, although the gnocchi might benefit from less oil.

Despite mixed opinions on specific dishes, many reviewers agree that Nook Restaurant offers an inviting experience, with a dedicated staff that enhances the overall enjoyment. Tim highlighted the fantastic service and family-friendly atmosphere, while John Garrett noted the restaurant's crisp focus on a limited yet flavorful menu, praising the Rigatoni Boscatiola for its rich taste, even if served in a cold bowl. Overall, Nook Restaurant stands out as a place worthy of exploration, where the emphasis on quality, service, and atmosphere can lead to memorable meals.
